Citibank HK fraudulent Netflix charges

Citi Alerts: There was a transaction / pre-authorization of USD1.00 on your credit card ending with 9306 on 2018-11-23 at 00:03:23 HK time. For ref. only.

I was prewarned by big group, so I shut down the card within 5 minutes of being charged.

I think I did. But I issued my own tickets on Citi and my brother's family on Wewa (OMC) at the same time. Why Wewa not compromised/why Citi only?

I was told that my SC AM Mastercard was charged HKD7.83 (i.e. 1 USD) by AirBnB.

But the card has never been used, at least not in the last 12 months. The signature panel is still blank.

因航seems to be the only culprit.

HSBC have existing fraud detection program to stop those US$1 auth transaction request, then flag your card without further damage.

No related to POS , have u use this card via cx/Asia mile purchase online or pay for tax(flight)

Did CX send you an email that told you the credit card info was read by hacker last time?

No credit card information ! only Title ,name and address !

Email/HKID/Name/Phone/Title (no idea how they have my HKID). 

But I won't fully rely on CX's 25/10 notifications.
BA just admitted losing losing 21/4-28/7 card info as well yesterday (BA initially only admitted 21/8-5/9). It is open for CX to do the same.

Too many merchants involved (my lost MC has never been on Payme).
Seems like Citi is the source.

Yes, for AM tickets redemption (surcharge + tax), but only in the last year or earlier (> 12 months).

CX always use careful words like "no evidence of leaking passwords", which is just, in my opinion, equivalent to "I don't know".

CX always use careful words like "no evidence of leaking passwords", which is just, in my opinion, equivalent to "I don't know".

There's a case for a Commission of Enquiry to make sure CX doesn't wait til thefts have occurred to announce credit card data breach.

I have recently similar problem with 3 of my credit cards and all three credit cards had been used in BA site.  BA had sent me the alert that my credit card info leaked in September. So I suspected that the cases are related to BA site.

Same here - $93 charges from Netflix x 3 on Nov 23. I am told that there are few more pending authorizations on Nov 25.

My card had been previously used in BA.com.

It seems that it is NOT an individual case. Instead, it could be a systematic risk.

係喎,我BA都有中招。睇黎係BA多過CX既情況。

不過,我發現CX送果個一年監察,係唔知道我張卡被洩露左出去。換句話說,送黎都冇用,俾人用左都唔知。
